Nerja, located on the beautiful Costa del Sol in southern Spain, is a popular destination for tourists looking for sun, sand, and a rich cultural experience. With so much to see and do, it can be overwhelming trying to decide what to prioritize.

Here are my top 10 things to see and do in Nerja:

1. Visit the Nerja Caves – These stunning caves, located just a few kilometers outside of the town, are home to some of the most breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites in the world. Take a guided tour to explore the caves and learn about their history and geology. We booked a Taxi and were there is just a 10 min. The entrance cost is 15 euros per ault.

2. Relax on Burriana Beach – This is the main beach in Nerja, and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. The sandy beach stretches for over a mile, and there are plenty of beachside restaurants and bars to enjoy.

3. Take a stroll along the Balcón de Europa – This scenic promenade, which stretches along the edge of a cliff, offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s the perfect place to relax and take in the sights and sounds of Nerja.

4. Explore the old town – Nerja has a rich history, and the old town is a great place to explore this history. Stroll through the narrow streets, visit the Church of El Salvador, and stop at one of the many tapas bars for a bite to eat.

5. Visit the Nerja Museum – This small museum, located in the heart of the old town, offers a fascinating look at the history and culture of the area. From ancient artifacts to modern art, there’s something for everyone here.

6. Hike up to the Mirador de Frigiliana – This lookout point offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and it’s a great place to watch the sunset. The hike to the top is fairly easy, and the views are worth it.

Be sure to try some of the local seafood, well as deep fried eggplant. The wine is also fantastic and a great bottle costs about 5 Euros.
