Gaudí in Barcelona:
Funky Fact: There are seven of Gaudí’s works that attained UNESCO World Heritage Status.

As I walked through the winding streets of Barcelona, I couldn’t help but feel drawn to the ornate and imaginative architecture that seemed to be around every corner. Most of the cities magical art scene centers around the works of Antoni Gaudí an amazing and innovative artist that worked over 100 years ago. One of my favorite sites was the colorful CASA BATLLÓ.

Gaudí, a Catalan architect and designer, is known for his unique and eclectic style, which is heavily influenced by nature and the Catalan culture. His most famous works can be found throughout in Barcelona, and as I explored each one, I felt like I was uncovering a secret world of his imagination and wonder.

My first stop was the Sagrada Família, a towering basilica that has been under construction for over 100 years. As I walked around the outside of the building, I was struck by the intricate details and organic shapes that seemed to come to life in the stone. The façade was covered in intricate carvings of animals, plants, and figures, all inspired by Gaudí’s love of nature.
I made my way to Park Güell, a public park that is filled with colorful mosaics, sculptures, and buildings. I was struck by the way that Gaudí had used natural forms and motifs to create something truly unique. The park was a veritable wonderland, filled with twisted columns, curved walls, and mosaics that seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. There is a Museum in the Park as well.

While exploring the city, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the creativity and imagination of Gaudí. His works seemed to challenge the boundaries of traditional architecture and invite the viewer to see the world in a new way.
My journey to discover the secrets of Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona was a true delight. Each of his works was a testament to his creativity and dedication to his craft, and I left the city feeling inspired and awestruck.
