I’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to explore every corner of this vibrant city on my 3 trips here. While there are certainly plenty of well-known Instagram spots in Barcelona, there are also a ton of secret locations that only locals know about. Here are my 8 Favorite hidden Instagram gems:
- Bunkers del Carmel: Located on the hill of El Carmel, these bunkers offer some of the best views of the city. They’re a bit off the beaten path, so you’ll likely have the place to yourself. The views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea are simply breathtaking.
- Jardins del Laberint d’Horta: This beautiful garden is located in the Horta neighborhood, and it’s filled with winding paths, hidden corners, and beautiful sculptures. It’s the perfect spot to snap some pictures of nature and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Passeig de Sant Joan: This wide boulevard is located in the Eixample neighborhood and it’s filled with stunning Art Nouveau buildings. Take a stroll down the street to snap some pictures of the beautiful facades and stop for a coffee at one of the many outdoor cafes.
- Parc de la Ciutadella: Located in the heart of the city, this park is filled with lush gardens, stunning fountains, and a boating lake. It’s the perfect spot to capture some peaceful shots of nature in the city.
- Montjuïc Castle: Located on a hill overlooking the city, this castle offers some of the best views of Barcelona. It’s a bit of a hike to get to, but the views are worth it.
- Casa Batlló: This iconic building is located on Passeig de Gracia, and it’s a must-see for any Instagrammer visiting Barcelona. The building’s unique design and colorful mosaics make it a perfect backdrop for your shots.
- Plaça Reial: Located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, this charming square is filled with charming restaurants and cafes. Take a seat at one of the outdoor tables and snap some pictures of the beautiful surroundings.
- Mercat de Sant Antoni: This bustling market is located in the Eixample neighborhood and it’s the perfect place to capture some colorful shots of the local produce and street food. The market is open from Tuesday to Sunday, so be sure to check it out if you’re in town on the weekend.
